Stock up on sale items, use store and manufacture coupons together to get items at a low cost. Also, if it is a Unilever product, use your Upromise card when you pay to add money to a child’s college fund.
Familiarize yourself with your store's coupon policy. It's not a bad idea to print it out and carry it with you.
Don't just toss your expired manufacturers' coupons. They're sent to our military families overseas who are given an extra 6 months to use them.
Always check your receipt before you leave a store. I learned this lesson many years ago when I was charged 15 dollars instead of 15 cents for a pack of gum.
Count your coupons before you hand them over to the cashier so you can verify, when checking your receipt, that you got credit for all of them.
If the store is out of a sale item, request a rain check every time you are in the store! Sometimes a coupon will be coming out the following Sunday and then you get a sweeter deal!
To get the most toilet paper (or paper towels) for the best price. Just look at the total number of square feet in the package and move the decimal place up 2 spaces. If the package says "total area 1419 square feet," mentally move the decimal place up 2 spaces to 14.19 and add the dollar sign = $14.19. A great price for toilet paper is $ .01 per square foot.. So, $14.19 is the price this package (above) would be if it were $ .01 cent per square foot. If the sale price on this toilet paper was $14.19, it would be a nice bargain (at $ .01 cents per square foot). If the price were lower, just $9.99, it would be an even better deal. With 1 ply, you just have to unroll more and double it up, but you still use basically the same amount. - Originally posted on RefundCents
